Water and Sewer Department Responsibilities
Maintain and repair as needed 11 ½ miles of water mains and all related hydrants, valves, tanks, curb stops, and meters.
Maintain and service Water Softening and Chlorination Plants.
Maintain water sources and surrounding areas.
Maintain Water District owned equipment and vehicles.
Maintain and repair as needed 15 miles of sewer mains and manholes.
Inspect sewer hookups.
Inspections of septic systems.
Check water quality on a daily basis.
Collect water samples for testing on a monthly and yearly basis.
Submit monthly reports to Oneida County Health Department.
Prepare annual Water Quality Report for distribution to all customers.
Prepare annual budgets for the Water District and the Sewer District.
Prepare and maintain annual inventory of Town owned equipment.
Read water meters monthly.
